OK so I'm about six months late to the party and the world and their mother seems to have one but I finally got my hands on the Glam Clam brush set by Spectrum Collections. It's been sold out for a long time but patience proved to be a virtue and I finally gave in and ordered myself this little beauty...
What I love about this set, besides LOOKING AT IT, is the fact that it contains just the essentials. I've accumulated a lot of brushes over the years; with one of my most prized possessions being a professional set of MAC brushes my dad got me when I was about eighteen. However, some of my brushes have never even been used before. More to the point, I'm not even sure I know what they're intended use is. I stick to the basics and this set totally gets that.
All of Spectrum Collection’s brushes are hand finished, vegan and animal friendly - composed of a seemingly very high quality synthetic hair which makes them super soft and easier to clean. The Glam Clam is somewhat of a signature piece; a faux-leather shell clutch containing their 10 best selling brushes, each with rose gold detailing and ombre coloured bristles.
The set includes -
A Flat Top Buffer - for quick applying liquid foundation
A Large Domed Powder - for evenly applying powders and bases
A Small Angled Blush - for eyeliner and fine detailed work
A Buffing Concealer - for concealing under-eye and minor imperfections
A Large Fluffy Shader - to apply your base colour before building shade and contouring
A Tall Tapered Blender - to blend out colour or build up shade in the contours of the eye
A Small Angled Blender - to create a contoured eye, add shading or highlight to the inner corners
An Angled Brow - for creating a defined, sculpted brow line
A Lip Liner - for...lining your lips. Obviously.
And finally, a Fine Detailer - for small detail work on the eyes or lips
As of yet, I've seen absolutely no loose or stray hairs and the bristles are so soft that they make for quick and easy application. I find that they also bunch together so carry the product so you can take them on the go with you, without having to take the blush or eyeshadow with you.
Overall, the Glam Clam is easily my favourite beauty purchase in along time. The brushes are absolutely beautiful and better yet, excellent quality - the perfect replacement for my Real Techniques. If I had to change one thing, I think just a few of the brushes could be a little firmer for applying bronzer or blush but, other than that I can't fault them. I certainly think they are worth the investment for quality, long lasting brushes that look great on your Instagram. Priced at £59.99, The Glam Clam is available from The Spectrum Collections website but grab it quick as they go out of stock pretty fast.
That's it for another beauty review - have you ever tried Spectrum Collection brushes before? What do you think of the Glam Clam? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave them below.
Until next time,
Omg they are the most beautiful brushes I have ever seen!
