With Father Day's right around the corner, Warner Bros. invited myself and my Dad along to their #WBFathersDay event for an evening quality family time and film. Here's a look at the evening...
Having arrived at Warner Bros, we were greeted with drinks and some delicious nibbles before taking our seats for a screening of Creed (Ryan Coogler, 2015) - because what better way to celebrate Father's Day then with a screening of the ultimate daddy issues movie. For those of you who haven't seen Creed yet, it is a sequel the Rocky films that stands just as well on it's own. The narrative follows the former World Heavyweight Champion boxer, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) as he agrees to train and mentor Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan), the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).
Myself and Jack actually didn't get round to seeing it at the cinema despite it's Best Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar nomination last year. Being yet another Rocky movie, I wasn't sure if it was my sort of film but I honestly really enjoyed the film and glad we finally got a chance to see it. Having seen the movie and been awarded our jam-packed goodie bag, full of selection of DVDs to enjoy at home with the family, Jack and I stopped off at Wagamama for dinner before heading home.
Thanks so so much to Warner Bros. for this amazing selection of movies to enjoy with the family and for a fun-filled evening of film. How do you like to spend quality time with your family? Have you got anything planned for Father's Day? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones below. Don't forget Father's Day is on Sunday 19th June - let me know how you'll be celebrating your loved ones (of past or present) and share your epic Father's Day tweets with Warner Bros. by using #WBFathersDay on Twitter.
Until next time,

Thank you - yeah was really good. And an awesome goodie bag to enjoy at home :)
DeleteI'm glad you had a lovely evening! I have always been obsessed by movies thanks to my uncle! He would lend me horror movies without my mum knowing haha! I'm still obsessed to this day! <3

Oh really? That's so cool. Yeah I think I'm pretty lucky that we were always at the cinema or they'd have something on the TV. Definitely seen alot of films I don't think I would have seen otherwise. You'd love FrightFest, you should go one year! x
DeleteIt's good that you have Jack to step in like that when needed :) I still have to figure out what to get my dad for Father's Day so thanks for the reminder. I kind of envy you that your parents are interested in film. My dad really dislikes going to watch anything that's up for an Oscar, lol.
ReplyDeleteHa yeah, all the free stuff and drinks/sandwiches - def took one for the team. Is Father's Day the same day in America as it is in the UK? So bizarre cos the Mothers Day is different isn't it? Realllly, why though? Yeah my parents are usually pretty good with films although they have a million dvds and bluray that just gather dust and my dad tends to fall asleep through most films unless he watches it early in the day. He has fallen asleep in the cinema a few times too!
DeleteYes, Father's Day is the same while Mother's Day is different. From your mom's post, I see there is a tradition of film and fashion in your family :)
DeleteYeah it really is! I definitely have her to blame for my obsession with clothes and films haha My mum loves musicals and classical hollywood because she used to watch them with her mum when she was little. My dad loves Action/Adventures, Spielberg and he's really big on war films so I think I've got a good varied taste :)
DeleteMy love of films came from my mum and she loved to style her her and make clothes like the film stars wore! I loved taking you all to the cinema too!
ReplyDeleteYep - fruit definitely doesn't fall far from the tree. I still love going! And we'd always go Woolworths before and get those tiny cans and some sweets
DeleteI am so jealous! You got some amazing films to take home. Have you seen them all yet? Hope you had fun at Warner Bros. it looks so fancy

Thanks hun! Was a great evening :) I haven't watched all of them just yet but I had seen a few before hand. Really looking forward to seeing Black Mass and rewatching a few of them x
DeleteSounds awesome, glad you had fun. But how did you manage to get Warner Bros to contact you?
ReplyDeleteThanks - was really fun. I'm not sure what I did exactly but I think because I write about film and lifestyle and my blog has a certain DA. A lot of PR companies have tools and ways of finding related bloggers and when they do bloggers outreach they probably just came across mine and invited me. When I first started blogging I used to get far smaller brands contacting me, it just takes time to start having bigger brands notice. Sometimes it's just pure luck
