Lifestyle Review: Caricatures with Topsy Doodle

Hello, hello! Back again with another artsy post and today I'm pleased to be sharing a quirky brand which specialises in handcrafted caricatures, headers and self portraits for blogs as well as personalised cake toppers for home and live events. Here's a little look...

One thing I've noticed becoming very popular in blog community lately is personalised self portraits or headers as they give your blog a completely unique look. As well as a whole host of other services, one brand that specialises in this is Topsy Doodle - founded by none other than my very talented cousin, Becky Athawes. Becky has been a keen artist and creative for as long as I can remember and so setting up her own business came at no surprise. As well producing beautiful, hand painted watercolour portraits and hand sculpted cake toppers, she also creates on-the-spot caricatures at live events such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Becky studied Theatre Design at Nottingham University and when she's not planning her own wedding (which I'm pretty excited for) and running Topsy Doodle, Becky works as a senior set designer and builder. Having launched her brand new website recently, Becky kindly created a personalised package for me to share with you all and here's the result...

The process from my end was pretty easy. In order to put these pieces together, all Becky needed from me was a few images of myself and Jack with a list of some of my favourite things. As you can probably guess, the list wasn't a mile long and consisted of my cat Rosie, films, Disneyland and shopping. From the photos of the end result, I think you can see that she pretty much nailed it. In particular, I really like the little details such as the stack of films, the Darth Vader helmet, my tattoos and of course, the references to my blog. I find it very amusing how well Becky managed to capture both myself and Jack's likeness. She even included a Burger and Lobster reference from Jack's birthday day out which I posted about recently.

If you'd like to learn more about Becky's services or would like a personalised portrait/header for your blog, you can visit her website here or contact her via her enquiries page here. Don't forget, you can also follow Topsy Doodle on Twitter, Facebook

Well, that's it for another Monday Blog. How was your weekend? Have you ever had your portrait done? What would your portrait say about you? As always, I love reading your thoughts so please do leave me lots of lovely comments below.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week ahead. Until next time,
