Beauty Event: K West Hotel Spa with SpaSeekers

Last week, myself and Fran headed over to the K West Hotel Spa in Shepherd's Bush for a bloggers evening of food, treatments and some much needed pampering. As my first time visiting a spa, it was certainly an interesting experience. Here's a little look at our evening...

I'll be honest - I've had never been to a spa before as the whole idea terrified me. I don't like walking round in a swimming costume and I hate being touched by strangers so you can see why, until now, I'd never considered it high on my list of things to try. My friends and family members have always been keen on spas and telling me of various ones they've visited and so when SpaSeekers got in touch and asked me if I would be interested in attending their spa event, I figured maybe this was my chance to finally give it a try - why not, aye?

For those of you not yet familiar with their service, SpaSeekers* are a website designed to make your spa search as simple as possible; sharing special offers, discounts and searchable packages from across the UK. Located at K West Hotel and Spa (just a few minutes walk from Shepherd's Bush train station), myself and Fran arrived just in time to enjoy the Afternoon Tea menu and a chat with some fellow blogger babes before a cocktail masterclass.

Having stuffed our faces, it was time to head downstairs to check out the spa. This is the bit where I got nervous. However, once I got in there it was near-on impossible not to feel at ease. As well the staff being the nicest people ever, the spa had a wonderful, calming atmosphere. Once inside, we had free reign of the sauna, ice room (which is literally an awesome room of ice) and my favourite - the amazing jacuzzi.

You'll have to forgive my nails (or lack of them) but I had them removed especially for this nails workshop. Following a couple of hours in the spa, we sat down with the super talented Sarina who talked us through preparing our nails and various nail art techniques featuring cruelty-free, vegan nail products. The workshop itself was really fun and allowed us to play around with various tools and learn techniques we could try at home. And as if we weren't spoilt enough, we were even given a goodie bag of spa products to enjoy at home. So all in all - my spa phobia has officially been faced and overcome. I genuinely had a lovely evening - the food was amazing and after a long day at work, the jacuzzi was a great way to relax. In a bid to deliver a super honest review, I couldn't actually think of one thing wrong with this place.

That's it for another event review. But tell me, have you ever been to the K West Hotel? How do you feel about spas? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely comments below. A huge thanks to SpaSeekers for an awesome event and to the lovely Fran for joining me.

Until next time,

  2. Sounds like such a lovely evening! I'm a bit like you - I've never been to a spa before and I'm slightly nervous about the idea of going to one. Your experience sounds super fun and relaxing though so maybe I should give it a chance too.. You never know after all! x

    1. Yeah I honestly had such a lovely time after spending the week building up to it feeling really nervous. So glad I faced my fear (luckily no one touched me haha). I think if you pick the treatments you want and do what makes you comfortable then you should be fine :) xx

  4. Yeah, I think I feel the same as you about an experience like this, which I've never had. But I'm glad to see you ultimately enjoyed it :)

For some reason I can't reply on your Gold post so I'll put my email address here: greek.arete@gmail.com

If I were to visit London this year, how would I watch London Film Club from my hotel room?

    1. Ha I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way!

Are you coming to London? If you wanted to watch in your hotel room you would tune in at 6.30pm on a Thursday on Freeview 8, Sky 117 or Virgin 159 depending on the TV. I'm not on every week though :)

    4. My tastes aren't posh so a Premier Inn or something similar does the job for me. The one at Waterloo is nice :) I will also do some research into airbnb to see what's available.

    5. Nothing wrong with a Premier Inn haha. I think I've actually stayed at the Waterloo one and it wasn't half bad, definitely did the job :)

  6. Looks amazing, especially all the food and cocktails! Glad you've overcome your spa phobia, to be honest I'm the same. I really want to go to the Lush spa but I am a little nervous about it, but this post has shown me it might be a lot better than I think!

    1. Oh yeah I've heard about the LUSH spas! When I went to their Creative Showcase they were doing massages which I wasn't comfortable doing but I can understand why people like doing them. If you're OK with being touched I think they're usually very good at easing you in and checking that you're happy (not too much pressure etc). Thankfully, we just got to wander round a bit at this one so we didn't have to do anything we didn't want to :) xx
