If you're a nineties kid like me, you'll probably have grown up on a variety of iconic TV Shows. For me, one of those many shows was Friends. And so, having recently learnt about Comedy Central's ultimate Friends experience, FRIENDSFEST, my best friend Vanessa and I headed over to take look...
Now this isn't the first year that FRIENDSFEST has been running but, this year, I knew I had to be there without fail. Following last year's sell out tour, the convention has returned for a 12 week tour of the UK, showcasing across six locations (Sheffield, Cardiff, Manchester, Oxfordshire, Essex and London). Clearly, it was well worth the wait because this year was even bigger than before; adding a new full set and previously unseen memorabilia.
Having booked our tickets, we were allocated a specific time slot in which we could visit the sets without it getting too crowded. Escorted by a tour guide, we were first taken to a room featuring some of the most iconic props and costumes from the show. This is all just to get you warmed up, however, as next we were taken to the full scale set of Joey & Chandler's apartment, the iconic hall way and finally, Monica and Rachel's.
The set tour is short but sweet, although plenty of time to take photos. Once back outside, FRIENDSFEST has plenty of food trucks to choose from (each keeping in theme with the show); and has a large outdoor screen showing episodes. Having grabbed some lunch, we decided to check out some of the other attractions including Ross & Rachel's Vegas chapel of love, Central Perk and of course, the gift shop.
Besides all the obviously awesome cool props and sets, one of the things I really liked about FRIENDSFEST was how organised it all was. The queues themselves run super quickly and there are plenty of crew members around to help with taking photos and to guide you through the sets. Due to the time slots, this means that nowhere is too packed and you can wander round leisurely to get the most out of your roughly 3 to 4 hour visit.
If you're a big Friends fan, I cannot recommend visiting FRIENDSFEST enough. The detail on the sets and the amount they've put in to arranging the event is just spot on. Everyone was in such high spirits and quoting along with the episodes and it was great to feel apart of it all. Unfortunately the remaining dates are sold out but it's well worth getting yourself on the mailing list for next year. Read more about it here.
That's it for another lifestyle event, have you been to FRIENDSFEST before? What are some of your favourite Friends moments? As always, I love reading your comments so please do leave me lots of lovely ones down below.
Until next time fellow Friends Fans,

Until next time fellow Friends Fans,
Oh that looks like it was a lot of fun! This makes me want to pick up some of the art posters which are on Amazon for really reasonable prices. I see the French toys poster and the Laurel and Hardy poster on your photos. They also had an Attack of the 50 foot Woman poster iirc. I remember having some good laughs about the one where Joey was looking for a hot girl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcGCVs5bxns and Ross dated a "dirty girl": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLwHr6UU5E8
ReplyDeleteYeah it's funny you should say that actually as Vanessa got herself the one from Monica's apartment :) Aw yeah I remember - I think it's one of those shows I can just watch over and over and still like it
DeleteAh such an amazing post! It seems like a fabulous event, so envious you got to go. Thanks for sharing detailed info on the event, it really created a feel of your experience. Great photos again too! Friends is one of my favourite TV shows, and I think it will remain a timeless classic. :-) xx
