It's been a while since I've had a chance to write anything on the blog and it feels as though the year has just flown by. With Christmas just seven short weeks away, the festivities have already begun for some - including Moonpig. A few weeks ago, I attended their Virtual Christmas Event for an evening of cocktail making, flower arrangements all via Zoom. Here's a little look at what we got up to...
Christmas with Moonpig
I'm sure many of you are well aware of Moonpig by now, but for those of you who are unsure, Moonpig are an online personalised greeting card and gift service. With over 10,000 cards to choose from, no matter what the occasion, you can send personalise and even handwritten cards, flowers and gifts right to your loved one from the comfort of your own home, including via their app. With Christmas drawing near, they invited myself and other bloggers to join their Virtual Christmas Event to try out their mobile app, learn more about the Moonpig Christmas collection, services and follow some cocktail tutorials, and even learn some flower arranging.
Moonpig Christmas Flowers
After we were taken through all the features of the Moonpig website and app, we were treated to a flower arranging session with the lovely Roxanne from Moonpig. Each of us was sent a beautiful box of Christmas flowers and a set to create our very own centre piece. The flowers not only looked festive but thanks to the oasis, they'll have a long life - the perfect Christmas gift.
Moonpig Cocktail Masterclass
After we created our Christmas floral centre pieces, Conor from Mix & Twist held a super festive cocktail masterclass. Using the amazing gift box from Moonpig which included glasses, straws, cocktail mixing kit and all the ingredients, we made a Vodka Garden, a Kiwi Collins (perhaps my preferred of the 3) and a Gingerbread Espresso Martini. The majority of the ingredients used are available from Moonpig, including the vodka, as well as other spirits which make for a great gift this Christmas.
If you'd like to make some of the cocktails yourself at home, you'll need:
Vodka Garden: 45ml Belvedere Vodka, 25ml lime juice, 25ml sugar syrup, 6-8 mint leaves, 25ml elderflower soda, 1inch Cucumber slice
Kiwi Collins: 45ml Belvedere Vodka, half peeled kiwi, 25ml lemon juice, 25ml sugar syrup and soda top
Gingerbread Espresso Martini: 45ml Belvedere Vodka, 15ml Gingerbread syrup & 60ml Espresso
Well that's it for another fun lifestyle evening. A big thanks to Moonpig for inviting me to my first ever virtual blogger event. It was a first for me but was super fun and, who knows, perhaps the future of blog events? If you'd like 20% off your next Moonpig order, simple download the app and use discount code APP20CA.
Until next time - seasons greetings!
